My Journey as a nurse has been long and challenging – gross anatomy lab when I had the flu, dozens of all-nighters, and approximately 8,000 gallons of stale coffee. (To my fellow clinicians, that would be over 32,000 liters).
Today, I apply those hard-earned skills every shift at Palomar Pomerado Health, a Magnet® health–care system and the only designated Level II Trauma Center in North County San Diego. I work with a dynamic team and supportive leadership some who have been with PPH for more than 20 years.
Even though PPH is one of the largest health–care systems, they somehow manage birthday celebrations for their employees. That’s just the kind of place this is.
No wonder my 17 “smile muscles” are getting quite a workout these days.
